Menlo Park-based New Relic has secured a $3.5 million first round from Benchmark Capital.
Led by Lewis Cirne, who was an Entrepreneur in Residence at Benchmark, New Relic offers a subscription-based Rails Performance Management solution. Rails developers are given a window into the critical performance data of their running apps.
Lewis Cirne was previously CEO at Wily Technology, a company which grew to over $100 million in revenue on the back of the Java boom in the late 90′s. He expects that Ruby on Rails will go the same way.
