The linked article refers to a x50 increase in iPhone searches at Google.

http://radar.oreilly.com/archives/2008/05/mobile-internet.html

The future is web applications that are built from the ground up to handle different contexts. Contexts being mobile or desktop. It's going to take some time for that sort of change to take place. There will be a need for interim solutions to handle the billions of webpages, built with only desktop browsers in mind. Not sure if SkyFire is that interim solution, seems a little heavy.

I think the massive internet time amongst iPhone users proves that SkyFire is going in the wrong direction by trying to deliver the desktop browsing experience on a mobile device. What makes the iPhone such an awesome thing to use is when the apps are written for the iPhone, which is anything but a desktop browsing experience.
